SEASIDE, Calif. - The Cal Poly Humboldt men's soccer team continues CCAA play on the road this week with matches against Cal State Monterey Bay and Stanislaus State.
The Lumberjacks will face the Otters on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m. inside Cardinale Stadium in Seaside. Humboldt will then travel to Turlock for a 7 p.m. meeting with the Warriors on Saturday, Oct. 24.
LAST TIME OUT
Humboldt enters the week with a 2-10-3 overall record and a 1-8 mark in conference play following a 1-0 loss at Fresno Pacific.
The Lumberjacks and Sunbirds remained scoreless through the opening 45 minutes before Fresno Pacific broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute. Humboldt continued searching for an equalizer but was unable to erase the one-goal deficit.
Humboldt finished with 10 shots and placed four attempts on target.
Izaiah Grosveld led the Lumberjacks with three shots, including two on goal, while
Edwin Monterrosa recorded six saves in goal.
CHALLENGING THE OTTERS
The Lumberjacks will begin the weekend Thursday against No. 15 ranked Cal State Monterey Bay.
The Otters enter the match with a 9-2-3 overall record and a 5-1-3 mark in CCAA competition. Cal State Monterey Bay has established itself among the conference's leading teams while protecting its home field at Cardinale Stadium.
Humboldt will look to generate opportunities against an Otter side that has remained among the CCAA's most consistent teams throughout the season.
MEETING THE WARRIORS
Humboldt will travel to Warrior Stadium on Saturday for its second match in three days.
Stanislaus State enters the week with a 3-6-6 overall record after playing Menlo to a scoreless draw in its most recent match.
Saturday's contest will close Humboldt's regular-season road schedule and provide the Lumberjacks with another opportunity to collect conference points before returning to College Creek Field.
