ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Cal Poly Humboldt men's indoor track & field team closed out competition at the GVSU Big Meet on Saturday with a strong mix of sprint performances, relay action, and standout marks in the jumps and throws.
FIELD EVENTS
Paul Domingue highlighted Humboldt's day with a victory in the men's triple jump, posting a winning mark of 13.86m (45-5.75). The junior delivered a consistent series and sealed the win with his top jump of the competition.
In the shot put, Joseph Gonzalez turned in another strong performance, placing sixth with a throw of 16.08m (52-9.25). Teammate Derek Ray added a mark of 14.82m (48-7.50) to round out Humboldt's efforts in the event.
Freshman Alexander Dillon cleared 1.87m (6-1.50) in the high jump, finishing ninth overall. Dillon successfully navigated early heights before narrowly missing at 1.92m.
TRACK EVENTS
Humboldt saw solid performances across the sprint events, beginning with the 60 meters. Cameron Bishop led the Lumberjacks with a time of 7.12, followed by Alonzo Paul at 7.16. Bennett Feldenkirchen added a 7.39.
Paul returned in the 200 meters to clock 22.53, continuing Humboldt's productive showing in the short sprints.
In the 400 meters, Bishop delivered a strong 49.67 to place 17th overall, while Feldenkirchen followed with a 50.53.
The Lumberjacks also competed in the distance medley relay, where the quartet of Nicholas Woolery, Ryan Giglio, Hunter Phillips, and Elias Wiggins combined to run 10:14.43.

Following the GVSU Big Meet, the 'Jacks will begin their outdoor season at home with the Green & Gold Open on Saturday, Feb. 28.
