ARCATA, Calif. — Cal Poly Humboldt rowing is set to open its Division II racing slate this weekend as the Lumberjacks travel to Seattle, Wash., to compete against GNAC opponents Seattle Pacific and Western Washington. Racing will take place on the Lake Washington Ship Canal, marking the first head-to-head action of the spring against conference competition.

Humboldt enters the weekend with momentum, highlighted by its Varsity 8+ earning GNAC Crew of the Week honors following a strong showing against Division I competition in Sacramento this past weekend. The Lumberjacks will look to carry that performance into their first conference races of the season.
Racing is scheduled to begin at 8:15 a.m. with the Novice 4+, where Humboldt will line up in Lane 1 against Western Washington (Lane 2) and host Seattle Pacific (Lane 3).
The Varsity 4+ will see multiple entries throughout the day. Humboldt's Varsity 4+ crew will race at 8:30 a.m. in Lane 3, and return to the water at 10:30 a.m. in Lane 1.
In the Varsity 8+, Humboldt will compete twice, beginning with the first race at 8:45 a.m. in Lane 2. The Lumberjacks will close out the day in the Varsity 8+ at 10:45 a.m., occupying Lane 1.
The Second Varsity 8+ is scheduled for 10:15 a.m., with Humboldt set to race in Lane 2.
The regatta includes a scheduled break at 9:00 a.m. before racing resumes mid-morning.
This weekend marks an important early-season opportunity for Humboldt to evaluate lineups and build momentum against GNAC competition as the Lumberjacks continue their 2026 campaign.
