ATHERTON, Calif. - The Cal Poly Humboldt men's soccer team is set to open the 2026 regular season this week as the Lumberjacks travel to Atherton, Calif., for Menlo Kickoff Weekend. Humboldt will face Fresno Pacific on Thursday, Aug. 27, before taking on Colorado School of Mines on Saturday, Aug. 29, with both matches set at Wunderlich Field.
The Lumberjacks will open the weekend Thursday at 1:30 p.m. PT against the Sunbirds before returning to the pitch Saturday at 1:30 p.m. PT to face the Orediggers.
LAST TIME OUT
Humboldt enters the regular season following its preseason schedule that had them facing Simpson and Southern Oregon to prepare for the start of non-conference play.
The Lumberjacks carry their work from the exhibition portion of the season into their first regular-season matches.
FACING FRESNO PACIFIC
Fresno Pacific will provide Humboldt with its first regular-season test of the 2026 season. The Sunbirds and Lumberjacks will meet Thursday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at Wunderlich Field.
The season opener will give Humboldt its first opportunity to compete in a regular-season environment as the Lumberjacks look to establish themselves early in the 2026 campaign.
MEETING WITH THE MINES
Humboldt will return to Wunderlich Field Saturday afternoon to face Colorado School of Mines at 1:30 p.m. PT.
The matchup will close out the Lumberjacks' opening weekend and provide Humboldt with its second test in three days. The Jacks will look to build on Thursday's performance against Fresno Pacific while continuing to find their rhythm early in the season.
HOW TO TUNE-IN
*Humboldt's season opener will not feature live video.
UP NEXT
The Lumberjacks will stay in Atherton for another neutral site match against Northwest Nazarene on Sep. 3, followed by an away match at Jessup University.
