The Jacks started the second set with a 3-0 lead after two attack errors on the Toros and a kill by
Ashley Neale. Humboldt State held the lead until CSUDH caught up after an attack error by Rosendale, followed by a kill from Whitney Lee to tie the score at 10-10.
It turned into a back-and-forth game where the lead changed three times with eight ties in between. Tied at 18-18, the Toros took hold of the set after four-straight attack errors from the Jacks. Cal State Dominguez Hills claimed the set 25-19, ending the set with two kills from Prusa.
Down two sets to none, the Jacks came back from the break fired up. Carlson opened up the set with a kill, followed by two service aces giving HSU a little cushion and the early lead.

HSU quickly saw its lead increase to five points with the score at 24-19. Trying to stop the Jacks from claiming another set, the Torros grabbed a 4-0 lead in the fourth set. As the set continued, CSUDH's lead increased, slowly taking the wind out of the Jacks' sails. Service errors became a problem for HSU throughout the set as the Jacks surrendered six points due to services off target. The Toros took the fourth set 25-16, ending the match in their favor.
Although it wasn't the result that HSU was looking for, the Jacks will look to carry the positives from the third set into Saturday's 7 p.m. match against Cal State Los Angeles. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the "Dig for a Cure" match in honor of breast cancer awareness.
