HSU HOLDS OWN AND REBATA WINNING HEADER

HSU Head Coach Paul Karver was happy with how the 2014 opening weekend finished. His squad held tough against No. 3 Western Washington, before taking Western Oregon, 2-1, in overtime.

After multiple opportunities could not be capitalized upon, HSU saw No. 3 Western Washington net its second goal with just over two minutes left for the 2-0 final.

With 5:36 into the extra period, the Jacks' Courtney Rebata headed teammate Colette Behen's corner kick for the game-winner against Western Oregon. The goal was Rebata's first score playing for HSU.

EQUAL 2013 WIN TOTAL

In the second year of Karver rebuilding of the program, HSU will first try to equal its three-win total from last year this weekend.

The Jacks posted three victories in their first three 2013

matches. In last season's first contest, HSU booted its way past Academy of Art, 3-1, and added two more wins in the next three, before going 0-11-3 the rest of the year.
