ARCATA, Calif. – After splitting a pair of matches on its final road trip, Humboldt State volleyball returns home for the final time in the 2016 season when it hosts Cal State East Bay at 6 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 10 and Cal State Monterey Bay at 7 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 12.
HSU enters the weekend with an 11-13 overall record and a 6-10 record in California Collegiate Athletic Association.
Last week the Lumberjacks earned a straight-sets victory over San Francisco State on Friday before falling to Sonoma State in straight-sets Saturday.
"We played well this last weekend," said Head Coach
Kelly Wood. "We got better as the San Francisco match went on, and we competed pretty hard against Sonoma State."
Cal State East Bay enters the week with a 13-12 record overall and are 9-8 in CCAA play. On Oct. 19, the Pioneers claimed a five-set home victory against the Lumberjacks.
"East Bay is a young team with good left side hitters and a really good setter," said Wood. "We look forward to playing them, and we're confident playing the Pioneers at home."
Cal State Monterrey Bay comes into the match with an overall record of 10-14 and a CCAA mark of 5-12. In their previous matchup, the Jacks dropped a hard fought five-set match against the Otters on Oct. 11 in Seaside.
"We want to finish our season strong for our five seniors," said Wood. "They have put a lot of hard work and dedication into this program, and we want to send them off the right way."
