TURLOCK, Calif. – Stanislaus State defeated Humboldt State women's soccer 2-0 Friday night in the Lumberjacks first conference road game of the year.
The loss drops HSU to 2-6 overall and 1-3 in California Collegiate Athletic Association play.

"We just weren't good enough this evening, and all the credit goes to Stanislaus for how hard they made it for us," said head coach
Paul Karver. "When you look into the eyes of the players on this team they know how good they are and, while this hurts, there is still a great deal of belief."
Stanislaus limited HSU to just two shots on Friday night, neither of which were on goal.
Jade Poon had a a big night for the Warriors and connected on two goals in the match. Her header in the 58th minute gave Stanislaus an early lead, and her second goal in the 88th minute was the last scoring action of the night.
Lindsay Stoner and
Bridget Daley were responsible for the Jacks two shots.
HSU will be back in action Sunday afternoon when they take on the Pioneers of Cal State East Bay.
