Daley’s Goal Gives Women’s Soccer Win at George Fox

NEWBURG, Ore. – The lone returning all-conference performer from last year's team, Bridget Daley, has picked up right where she left off this season. Daley's 68th minute goal gave the Humboldt State women's soccer team (1-2) its first win of the young season over George Fox University (0-2).

"This was a really good weekend for us," said Head Coach Paul Karver. "We were able to give a lot of players game experience and important minutes on the road. This will only help us down the road."

Following their third straight scoreless first half, the Jacks were able to capitalize first on Sunday after intermission. In the 68th minute, a George Fox foul allowed the Green and Gold to line up for a free kick. Daley wasted no time in placing her set piece into the left corner of the net, giving HSU the 1-0 advantage.

Despite coming off the bench after logging heavy minutes in both Thursday and Saturday's games, the sophomore led all players in shots on goal with two.

Freshman goalkeeper Alex Dumas matched her season-best after recording four saves, and earned her first shutout of her young career.

HSU will continue its non-conference schedule next weekend at the Dixie State Invitational. The Jacks will play host Dixie State on Thursday before matching up with Colorado Mesa on Saturday.
