Arcata, Calif--- After being in Southern California this past week, the Humboldt State men's soccer team will return home to the pitch to face Cal State East Bay and Cal State Monterey Bay. The Lumberjacks will host Cal State East Bay this Friday, October 18 at 3pm. HSU will entertain Cal State Monterey Bay this Sunday, October 20 at 2pm. Both matches will take place at College Creek Field on the campus of Humboldt State.
RECAP OF HSU'S LAST TWO MATCHES: The Lumberjacks went 0-2 in their trip to Southern California this past weekend. Friday evening, HSU lost 2-1 to UC San Diego in La Jolla.
Isaiah Dairo scored his team leading seventh goal off of
Marco Silveira's team leading sixth assist.
Robert Quintero had six saves in goal for the Lumberjacks. On Sunday, HSU lost 3-0 at Cal State San Marcos despite recording six shot on goal attempts including two each by Dairo and
Devin Hauenstein. Quintero had three saves in goal for the Lumberjacks.
UPDATE ON THE LUMBERJACKS: Heading into their match this Friday, Humboldt State is 5-5 overall and 1-4 in the CCAA.
Isaiah Dairo leads the way with his seven goals for a team high 15 points as he also assisted on one goal.
Marco Silveira is behind him with 10 points with two goals and a team leading six assists.
Gus Baxter has scored four goals (one assist) for nine points which places him third on the team in points with
Devin Hauenstein next with eight points (three goals and two assists).
Dalton Rice and
Israel Gonzalez are tied for fifth with their six points. Rice has two goals and two assists while Gonzalez has three goals.
Robert Quintero has posted a 1.90 goals against average in goal for the Lumberjacks. He has 49 saves with his .721 saves percentage with two shutouts.

POINEERS IN REVIEW: Cal State East Bay is 2-8 overall and 0-4 in the CCAA after losing its last six in a row including both of their matches two weeks ago. The Pioneers lost 5-1 to Sonoma State on October 4 and 2-1 to UC Santa Cruz on October 8. They are led in scoring by Zack Mason with his two goals and two assists for a team leading six points. Juan Diego Escalante has posted a 1.79 goals against average in goal in five matches while Sean O'Brien has a 2.83 goals against average in six matches. HSU leads the all-time series with Cal State East Bay with 7-4 including winning last year's meeting 3-1 in Arcata on October 27, 2018.

OTTERS IN REVIEW: Cal State Monterey Bay enters its match this Friday at SF State with a 6-2-1 overall record including a 1-2-1 CCAA record. The Otters defeated Cal State East Bay on October 2, but lost to Sonoma State 1—0 on October 6. Walmer Martinez leads the Otters with his nine goals, four assists for 22 points. Adrian Rebollar and Matthew Lea each have five assists. Daniel Lomell has posted a 1.07 goals against average with 11 saves in six matches. Rasmus Jonsson has a 1.40 goals against average with eight saves in four matches. HSU leads the all-time series with the Otters 9-8-2 including winning last year's 2-1 in Arcata on October 25, 2018 with
Dalton Rice and
Isaiah Dairo each scoring for the 'Jacks.
UP NEXT: After Sunday's match with Cal State Monterey Bay, HSU will have its final two road matches. The Lumberjacks will travel to Pomona for a 3pm match on October 25 with Cal Poly Pomona. They will be in San Bernardino on October 27 for a 3pm match with Cal State San Bernardino. HSU will return home on November 2 to begin a season ending three-match home stand with SF State.
