ARCATA, Calif.--- A goal by Stanislaus State's Jackzeny Mancilla in the 64th minute spoiled a Lumberjack victory, as Cal Poly Humboldt was forced into a 1-1 draw on Thursday afternoon at College Creek Field. Erin Mohr scored the goal for the Jacks while Carson Thomson-Terrel had a season and career high seven saves.
Â
It didn't take long for the Warriors to go on the offensive, as Mancilla launched a shot just 13 seconds into the match that was promptly saved by Thomson-Terrel. The Jacks first shot attempt came from Emma McChristie in the seventh minute. McChristie attempted another shot at 11:55 that was saved by Warriors goalkeeper Alexia Estrada. The Jacks would break through 15 minutes in, as Mohr's midfield shot soared into the right corner to give the team an early 1-0 lead. Thomson-Terrel would save a shot attempt by Stanislaus's Sabrina Cabrera with just over a minute left, as Humboldt would enter the half carrying a slim 1-0 lead.
Â
Kelsey Bess kicked things off in the second half with a shot attempt at 52:27. Shots by Lucas Taylor and Daisy Martinez at 61:52 and 62:24 were thwarted by Thomson-Terrel, but it was Mancilla's shot a minute later that finally broke through to equalize the score at one. Humboldt had three attempts to score a go ahead goal in the 78th minute, but attempts by Mohr, Morgan Young and Jysabella Tolentino all failed to connect. The Jacks had three more shot attempts in the last 10 minutes of action that all fell short, as the team was forced to settle for a 1-1 tie.Â
Â
Statistically, the Jacks outshot the Warriors 14-6, while Stanislaus held a 7-3 advantage on corner kicks. Mohr, McChristie, Bess, Tolentino, Young, Grace Johnson, Emilie Wallin and Julia Humphreys all had shot attempts on the day.Â
