Bryce Mitchell's first double-double in the Green and Gold, the visitng Cal Poly Humboldt Lumberjacks lost 77-62 at SF State this afternoon. Mitchell scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds while
Jaden Edwards added 13 points for the 'Jacks.
FIRST HALF: SF State (10-11, 7-7 CCAA) jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first four minutes of the game.
A Jacob Hunyh three increased the Gator lead to 15-4. The Gators took a 36-16 lead with 44 sedconds left in the half on a Toby Okwuokei lay-up. Humboldt finished the half outscoring the Gators 5-0 run capped by an
Amari Green's lay-up off a pass from
Jaden Edwards to cut the deficit to 36-21.
SECOND HALF: A three by
Thomas Melonja off a pass from
Jaden Edwards cut the 'Jacks deficit to 36-24 to begin the second half. SF State went on a 15-7 run to take a 51-31 lead with six minutes into the new stanza. Two free throws by Toby Okwuokei increased the hosts' lead to 61-41 with eight minutes left in regulation. A three by
Derek Burgess II cut the 'Jacks deficit to 77-62, but it was a little too late as the Gators took the CCAA victory.

ALL BUT THREE: Jaden Edwards has scored in double figures in all but three games for Cal Poly Humboldt (10-10, 4-10 CCAA). He scored 13 points this evening in 27 minutes.
UP NEXT: Humboldt will return home this Thursday and Saturday, February 10 and 12. The 'Jacks will host Cal State Dominguez Hills on February 10 and Cal State East Bay on February 12. Both games will begin at 7:30pm.
