NO. 5 LUMBERJACKS TO COMPETE FOR GNAC WOMEN'S ROWING TITLE
The fifth-ranked Cal Poly Humboldt women's rowing team will be competing in the 2022 Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships this Saturday, May 14 at Dexter Lake in Dexter, California.  The Jacks will be competing in the varsity 8+ and varsity 4+ along with fellow conference members No. 2 Central Oklahoma, No. 4 Western Washington and No. 6 Seattle Pacific. In the last NCAA Division II West Regional rankings, the Jacks were third in the varsity 8+, varsity 4+ and team rankings.  The 2022 NCAA Division II Women's Rowing Championships field will be announced on Monday, May 16 at 5pm (ET).
 
SIX JACKS EARN ALL-CCAA HONORS WHILE TWO ARE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS
Six members of the Cal Poly Humboldt men's and women's track and field teams earned All-CCAA honors this weekend by finishing in the top three in their respective events.  Grace Kasberger and Joy Hano were conference champions as they captured their respective events. Kasberger won the heptathlon and Hano captured the 100-hurdles.  Four other Jacks earned all-conference honors in Aris Valerio (second, 800-meter), Grant Van Emmerik (second, 400-meter), Travis Allen (third, decathlon) and Jared Del Real (third, shot put).  As a team, the Jack men finished in fifth place and the women placed eighth. Cal Poly Pomona's men's and women's team captured the team titles. 

FOUR SOFTBALL PLAYERS WERE NAMED TO THE 2022 ALL-CCAA TEAM
Four members of the Cal Poly Humboldt Softball team were named to the 2022 All-CCAA Team in Micaela Harris, JoAna Mullins, Vanessa Saltos and Izzy Starr.  Harris was a First-Team selection at catcher.  Mullins, Saltos and Starr were all named to the Second Team as voted on by the league's ten head coaches.  Humboldt had the second most selections on this year's All-CCAA Team. The Jacks now have had 185 All-Conference selections in program history in the CCAA or the GNAC. 
 
CAL POLY HUMBOLDT DEPARTMENT OF ATHLETICS' HALL OF FAME CLASS OF 2022
Cal Poly Humboldt Department of Athletics' Hall of Fame Ceremony for the Class of 2022 is set for October 7th at the Sapphire Palace Room in the Blue Lake Casino & Hotel in Blue Lake, Calif.  This year's class includes the 1977 Men's Cross Country Team, Courtney Hiatt (Softball, 2010-13), Nikki Ketteringham (Softball, 2008-11), Alex Markarian (Football, 2011-14), Josh Suggs (Men's Soccer, 2008-11), Tom Trepiak (Administrator) and Kersey Wilcox (Women's Basketball, 2013-15).  For more information, go to www.humboldtathletics.com/halloffame.
 
CAL POLY HUMBOLDT SAAC JOINS FORCES WITH MAKE-A-WISH TO MAKE A WISH COME TRUE
Cal Poly Humboldt Student-Athlete Advisory Committee participated in the Make-A-Wish Workout for Wishes program on April 24.  In honor of seven-year-old Charlie's wish to have a hot tub, the Jacks are collecting donations to help make wishes come true.  All proceeds will benefit Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area and support their mission to grant wishes for children ages 2.5 to 18 battling critical illnesses. COMMENCEMENT SET FOR THIS SATURDAY, MAY 14
This Saturday, May 15, join us in celebrating the achievements of the first Cal Poly Humboldt graduating class. Commencement ceremonies will take place on Saturday, May 14 in Redwood Bowl.  The events will be livestreamed, and links to the livestream will be available on the Commencement website and Humboldt home page at https://commencement.humboldt.edu/.
 
ATHLETIC CAMPS ARE SET FOR THIS SUMMER

HANO AND KASBERGER ARE THIS WEEK'S HUMBOLDT STATE LUMBERJACK STUDENT-ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
A pair of track and field athletes are this week's Cal Poly Humboldt Lumberjacks' Student-Athletes in Joy Hano and Grace Kasberger.
 
Joy HanoHano captured the 100-hurdles title at the CCAA Championships with her time of 14.58.  She also earned points for the Jacks as part of the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams.  The 4x400 relay team finished in fifth place and the 4x100 relay finished in sixth place. Hano finished in ninth place in both the 100-meter dash preliminaries and the long jump finals.
 




Grace KasbergerKasberger captured the heptathlon title with her 4288 points.  She also earned for the Jacks as a part of both relay teams in the 4x100 and 4x400.  The 4x400 relay team finished in fifth place and the 4x100 relay finished in sixth place.
