ARCATA, Calif. -- Cal Poly Humboldt head men's basketball coach Chris Tifft announced the signing of Isaac Sowell.
"Isaac is a competitor," stated Tifft. "When we began building our roster back in late summer, we wanted to focus on players who play hard and compete day in and day out. We believe Isaac fits that mold. He is relentless on the glass, can defend multiple positions, and is eager to get better with each passing day. We look forward to watching his growth on and off the court."
Sowell is a 6'5" freshman forward and joins the Lumberjack squad this season from Dominguez High School in Compton. As a senior, Sowell averaged 19.0 points per game, 17.0 rebounds per game and 2.0 blocks per game. He was named First Team Press-Telegram Dream Team and First Team All Gateway League in his senior season. As a junior at Dominguez High School, Sowell was awarded San Gabriel Valley League MVP and Second Team Press-Telegram Dream Team. Over the span of his four year high school career, he led his team to a 32-5 league record.
