SAN MARCOS, Calif. — Rosa Granados etched her name into the Cal Poly Humboldt record books once again when the graduate student from Arroyo Grande earned an individual victory in the 5000m run in a personal record time of 17.36.63 on Friday night at the Mangrum Invitational at Cal State San Marcos. The time places Granados 10th all-time on the school record list in the event and is also the fourth fastest time run in the CCAA so far this season.
Meanwhile, 30 minutes south at the Aztec Invitational hosted by San Diego State. Lumberjack heptathletes Grace Kasbeger and Cocome McKamey put together another pair of solid performances in a field crowded with talent, including Team USA member Shari Hawkins. Kasberger finished 11th overall and second among Division II athletes with a season best 4243 points while McKamey cracked the 4000 point barrier and climbed up to eighth all time in school history with a 13th place finish (4062 pts). Kasberger set a PR in the shot put event by nearly a meter while McKamey ran a nine second personal best in the 800m run en route.
Back at San Marcos, freshman Isabel Perez-Zoghbi also improved her national provisional mark with a meet win in the 400m hurdles. Her time of 1:01.21 currently ranks her third in the nation and second in the conference.
Joy Hano placed fourth in a deep 100m hurdles field with a mark of 14.41. She finished a tenth of a second behind Cal Poly Pomona's Ari Milton for the third position.
Erin Bechtold placed fifth in the pole vault (3.14m / 10' 3.5") while Amelia Jackson placed eighth in the 800m (2:19).
On the men's side, Terrence Allen placed fifth in the hammer throw (46.93m / 154') while Carson Smith placed eighth in the 5000m with a season best of 14:39.

The 'Jacks will continue their weekend tomorrow at the Point Loma Invitational in La Jolla. Field events begin with at 9 a.m. while track events begin at 11:30 a.m.
