AZUSA, Calif. — Cal Poly Humboldt women's track & field delivered a standout showing against elite collegiate and professional competition at the 2026 Bryan Clay Invitational, hosted by Azusa Pacific University from April 17–18. The Lumberjacks recorded multiple lifetime bests, NCAA Division II qualifying marks, and significant movement on the program's all-time lists across two days of competition.
DAY 1: DOUGHERTY, PEREZ-ZOGHBI LEAD STRONG OPENING DAY
Cal Poly Humboldt opened the meet with a strong showing in the sprints, highlighted by a breakout performance from freshman Caitlyn Dougherty in the 100 meters. Dougherty clocked a lifetime-best 12.03, moving from fourth to third all-time in program history.
She was joined by a trio of solid efforts in the event, as Mia Roberts (12.36), Brielle Jimerson (12.40), and Kelsi Lytle (12.46) each posted competitive marks in a deep field.
In the evening distance races, junior Isabel Perez-Zoghbi continued her stellar season in the invitational 800 meters. She crossed the line in 2:05.07, an NCAA Division II qualifying mark, placing 25th overall in a field loaded with professional, Division I, and Division II talent. Among DII competitors, Perez-Zoghbi finished an impressive third overall.
DAY 2: RECORDS FALL, RELAY SHINES IN FINAL DAY
The Lumberjacks carried their momentum into day two, beginning with the 4x100 relay team of Kelsi Lytle, Caitlyn Dougherty, Brielle Jimerson, and Mia Roberts. The quartet posted a time of 47.03, finishing 14th against a highly competitive field.
Individually, Brielle Jimerson delivered one of the top performances of the meet for Humboldt in the 400 meters. The sophomore clocked a lifetime-best 56.68, a mark that moves her from seventh to third all-time in program history.
Mia Roberts followed with a personal best of 25.26 in the 200 meters, improving her standing from 10th to sixth all-time for the Lumberjacks.
Capping the meet, Isabel Perez-Zoghbi turned in a historic performance in the 1500 meters. The junior ran 4:23.45, setting a new school record while also hitting another NCAA Division II qualifying standard. The performance marks her third elite effort of the meet and further establishes her among the top distance runners in the country this season.
Cal Poly Humboldt will look to build on this momentum as the Lumberjacks now prepare for the CCAA Championships from April 30-May 2 in San Marcos.
