ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Cal Poly Humboldt's men's cross country team faced off against some of the nation's best in the prestigious Lewis Crossover, one of the premier regular-season cross country meets. The Lumberjacks finished 29th in the highly competitive field, with several athletes delivering standout performances.
Top Performers
- Senior
Sebastian Vaisset-Fauvel led the charge for the Lumberjacks, clocking a personal record of 25:10.85 in the 8000-meter race. His effort earned him 90 points and placed him 160th overall.
- Fellow senior
Carson Smith crossed the line at 25:33.67, contributing 137 points and finishing 158th.
- Sophomore
James Woolery continued to impress, completing the race in 25:43.93 to add 160 points for the Lumberjacks.
- Freshman
Otis Kelly showcased his potential, running a solid 25:48.17 in his first major meet, securing 170 points.
- Junior
Luis Sandoval rounded out the scoring group with a time of 26:16.08 and added 202 points.
Other notable performances included senior Jaxon LeDuc (26:19.30, 206 points) and sophomore
Finn Granger (26:26.62, 215 points), both of whom battled through a challenging field.
Team Results
Cal Poly Humboldt finished 29th overall out of 36 teams with a team score of 758 points. The meet featured some of the strongest programs in NCAA Division II, including top-ranked teams like Colorado School of Mines, Western Washington, and Colorado Christian.

The Lumberjacks will now shift their focus to the Bronco Invitational, which is hosted by Santa Clara next weekend (Oct. 19) at
Baylands Park, as they continue prepare for the CCAA Championships later this season.
