Sunnyvale, Calif. – The Cal Poly Humboldt men's cross country team competed at the Santa Clara University Bronco Invitational, placing 10th out of 18 teams at Baylands Park. Competing in the 8k Open, the Lumberjacks faced a field packed with talent from across the region, and they showcased their depth with notable individual performances.
Leading the way for the Jacks was
Daniel Shaver (FR), who crossed the line in 57th place overall with a time of 26:20.6. Shaver continued to demonstrate his promise as a freshman, consistently leading the Humboldt pack.
Close behind Shaver was
Julian Jensen (JR), who secured 79th place in 26:42.7, contributing valuable points to the team's effort. Jensen's experience as an upperclassman proved crucial in navigating a competitive race field.
Next for the Lumberjacks was
Elias Wiggins (SO), finishing 105th overall with a time of 27:20.0, followed by
Keegan Henry (JR), who placed 137th with a time of 27:54.9. Both runners played pivotal roles in securing Humboldt's top-10 team finish.
Rounding out the top five for the Jacks was
Dominic Raffetto (JR), finishing 143rd with a time of 28:03.2. His performance helped the Lumberjacks hold their position in the middle of the pack.
Humboldt's final scorer,
Pablo Chapman (SO), crossed the line in 28:21.0, placing 153rd and continuing his steady improvement throughout the season.
The Lumberjacks will now set their sights on preparing for the upcoming CCAA Championships next Saturday in Fresno at
