CORVALLIS, Ore. -- The men's and women's squads of Cal Poly Humboldt Track & Field headed to the Pacific Northwest Invite on Saturday that was hosted by Oregon State University. With more personal records and times added to the school record book, the day was highlighted by sophomore Isabel Perez-Zoghbi when she ran a NCAA Provisional Mark in the 400 hurdles in her first outdoor race of the season. Her time ranks first in NCAA Division II for this event.

Joy Hano remains ranked at the top of the Division II in the 100 hurdles after running a time of 14.08 this week, which was a provisional mark. Last week at the Wildcat Invitational she ran a time of 14.02 to earn a provisional mark. She also finished third in the 100m as the top Division II sprinter with a time of 12.55, freshman Mia Roberts finished right behind Hano with a time of 12.61. Hano also set a new personal record in the long jump with a mark of 18'3", which was good for a third place finish and also the best Division II mark.

Grace Kasberger made strides in the 100 hurdles, as she ran a personal record of 15.25 and finished in fifth place.

Both the women's 4x100 (Mia Roberts, Isabel Perez-Zoghbi, Grace Kasberger, Joy Hano) and 4x400 (Ginny Brooks, Joy Hano, Grace Kasberger, Isabel Perez-Zoghbi) ran times that moved them up in the school record book. The 4x100 team ran the fifth fastest time in Humboldt history with a time of 48.32 and the 4x400 team ran the third fastest time in Humboldt history with a time of 3:52.22.

Women's distance runners posted season bests that included Mariska Kessler (4:51.17), Saedy Williamson (4:58.78), and Alexa Amador (5:08.61) in the 1500m. In the 3000m, Matilda Fitzgerald (11:37.29) and Charlotte Leonard (12:00.09) both ran season bests.

The men's sprinters had some highlight performances that included Cristian Megas (11.02) and Ryan Castro (11.06) finishing in third and fourth place for the 100m. Megas went on to win the 200m event with a time of 22.06 and was followed by teammates Joey Bowser in second place (22.41), Harry Singh in third place (22.55), and Ryan Castro in fifth place (22.97). With a time of 48.29 in the 400m, senior Grant Van Emmerik finished in second place for the event.

The men's 4x100 (Joey Bowser, Ryan Castro, Cristian Megas, Harry Singh) and 4x400 (Harry Singh, Ryan Giglio, Joey Bowser, Grant Van Emmerik) relay teams both won their events with the fastest times of the season so far. The 4x100 finished with a time of 42.15 and the 4x400 team finished with a time of 3:19.40.

Throws coach BJ Willkomm provided the following information:

"The Lumberjack throwing squad displayed an impressive array of throws in field with servers personal records.

Sophomore Nizhoni Kears nearly matched her personal best in the women's shotput with a great series of throws, securing a 2nd place finish with a throw of 11.21 meters.

In the discus ring, the action was intense as senior Gillian Davis went head-to-head with a talented group from Oregon State. Davis finished 6th with a throw of 38.23 meters. Not far behind, freshman Samantha Smith made her mark with a 9th place finish with 34.12 meters.

The hammer throw saw another freshman, Marielle Winuk, launching into her outdoor season with a commendable throw of 40.32 meters, setting the stage for what looks to be an exciting collegiate career.

On the men's side, senior Jason Trent had solid display of skill in the hammer throw. His series of attempts culminated in a 5th place finish with a throw of 45.08 meters, just shy of his personal record. Freshman Adam Gomez also shone, landing a 9th place finish with a new personal best of 37.90 meters, showcasing his progress in the event.

Sophomore Robert Cardenas stepped up in the shotput, throwing a new personal best of 14 meters to secure 7th place. Cardenas also claimed the 6th spot in the discus with a strong throw of 40.57 meters, proving his versatility across throwing events.

The Lumberjack throwers are now setting their sights on the upcoming Oregon Preview, where they will pit their skills against some of top national and international athletes."
