Humboldt Eyes Continued Success at Pacific Northwest Invite

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cal Poly Humboldt women's track & field team will travel north this weekend to compete at the Pacific Northwest Invite, hosted by Oregon State, on Friday, Mar. 20 and Saturday, Mar. 21 in Corvallis, Ore.

The meet provides a mid-season opportunity for the Lumberjacks to build momentum across event groups while continuing to chase qualifying marks and all-time program performances.

Humboldt enters the weekend coming off a strong stretch that included standout indoor and outdoor performances, highlighted by All-American honors, school records, and multiple all-time marks.

LAST TIME OUT

The Lumberjacks are coming off a historic weekend led by senior Isabel Perez-Zoghbi, who earned First Team All-American honors with a third-place finish in the 800 meters at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships.

On the outdoor side, Humboldt delivered a dominant showing at the Wildcat Invitational, highlighted by the sprint group. Freshman Caitlyn Dougherty won the 200 meters in 24.46, a mark that ranks third all-time in program history, and added a fifth all-time performance in the 400 meters at 56.92.

Sophomore Brielle Jimerson also made history, running 24.80 in the 200 meters (fourth all-time) and 57.39 in the 400 meters (seventh all-time). Kelsi Lytle added a top-10 program mark in the 100 meters, clocking 12.38 to rank eighth all-time.

In the field events, Marielle Winuk recorded a 10th all-time mark in the hammer throw (148'8"), while the throwing group and relays continued to show depth with multiple podium finishes.

PACIFIC NORTHWEST INVITE

Humboldt will look to carry its momentum into Corvallis as the squad will continue to build depth and consistency across all event groups.

The sprint group remains a key strength, with multiple athletes already posting top-10 program marks early in the season. The throws and pole vault groups also provide strong scoring potential, highlighted by the women's depth in the hammer and shot put.

With a balanced roster across sprints, distance, jumps, and throws, the Lumberjacks will focus on refining technique, improving marks, and continuing to establish themselves within the conference and national landscape.
