ARCATA, Calif. – Cal Poly Humboldt men's basketball will open its 2025 slate on Saturday, Oct. 18, hosting College of the Redwoods for an exhibition matchup at 6 p.m. PT at Lumberjack Arena. The contest marks the first action of the season for the 'Jacks as they gear up for the upcoming CCAA campaign. The scrimmage will also be free admission for all fans.
The Lumberjacks enter the new season, under head coach DJ Broome, ready to build on their progress from last year. With a mix of talented transfers and newcomers, Humboldt has been sharpening its play throughout practice and will look to showcase its depth and energy in front of the home crowd for the first time.
BATTLE FOR THE NORTH COAST
Saturday's contest serves as a local battle between the two North Coast programs. The Corsairs are coming off a strong 2024–25 campaign in the CCCAA and will test the 'Jacks in their exhibition debut. Though the matchup will not count toward official records, it provides valuable early-season experience and a preview of Humboldt's revamped lineup and team chemistry.
No live streaming or live stats will be provided of the match.

Following the exhibition, the 'Jacks will turn their attention to their next exhibition match, which tips off on Saturday, Oct. 25 at home against Santa Rosa Community College. After exhibition matches conclude, the Lumberjacks season home opener will occur on Nov. 14 against Western Washington.
