ARCATA, Calif. -- Cal Poly Humboldt head men's basketball coach DJ Broome announced on Tuesday the signing of 6'4" junior guard, Mike Sarden.
"Mike is a great kid, he understands the tradition and success this program has had, having a strong relationship with a Lumberjack great in Brandon Sperling," stated Broome. "Mike will be versatile for us on both ends of the bloor and has always impacted winning in every program he's been a part of."
Sarden joins the Lumberjacks after spending the past two seasons at Fresno City College. The Fresno native played in all 30 games during the 2024-25 season, averaging 10.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. Sarden shot 41.1% from the field, including 36.4% from three-point range, while converting 70% from the free-throw line. Over his two-year career, he has appeared in 59 games with 11 starts, totaling 506 career points on 39.7 percent shooting, highlighted by 118 made three-pointers and 10 games in double-digit scoring.
