ARCATA, Calif. – The Cal Poly Humboldt men's track & field team opened its outdoor season in impressive fashion at the annual Green & Gold Open on Saturday. The meet, which brings together current Lumberjacks, alumni, and the community, featured standout performances across multiple events. The competition also served as a special occasion to honor former Humboldt standout and current coach Marissa LaBelle (formerly McCay), who was recognized before the event for her induction into the Humboldt Athletics Hall of Fame this past fall.
Event Highlights:

Ryan Castro dominated the sprints, winning both the Men's 100m (10.82) and 200m (22.51).

Cristian Megas took first in the Men's 60m (7.19).

Isaak Kasso secured a victory in the Men's 110m Hurdles (15.33).

Hunter Phillips clocked 1:21.85 to take first in the Men's 600m.

Jaxon Leduc won the Men's 2000m Steeplechase (6:13.55).

James Woolery claimed the Men's 3200m (11:50.71).

The Men's 4x100m relay team took home gold with a time of 42.12.

Adam Gomez led the field events, winning the Men's Hammer Throw (45.15m).

Michael Payan took first in the Men's Pole Vault (4.75m).

Henry Hagen (Unattached) won the Men's Long Jump (6.34m).

Jackson Miller (Alumni) captured the Men's Triple Jump (11.89m).
With a strong start to the season, the Lumberjacks now turn their attention to next weekend at the Kim Duyst Invite on March 1 in Turlock at Warrior Stadium (Al Brenda Track).
