ARCATA, Calif. – The Cal Poly Humboldt women's track & field team made a strong statement to begin the outdoor season at the annual Green & Gold Open on Saturday. The meet, which featured current Lumberjacks, alumni, and community supporters, also served as a moment of recognition for former Humboldt standout and current coach Marissa LaBelle (formerly McCay), who was honored before the event for her induction into the Humboldt Athletics Hall of Fame this past fall.
Event Highlights:

Joy Hano showcased her speed, winning both the Women's 60m (8.10) and 60m Hurdles (9.10).

Mia Roberts impressed in the sprints, taking first in the Women's 100m (12.79) and 200m (26.25).

Cocome McKamey claimed victories in the Women's 300m Hurdles (45.05) and Javelin Throw (30.17m).

Tully Leonard won the Women's 400m (1:14.25).

Alexa Amador finished first in the Women's 3200m (15:13.23).

Lily Shadden won the Women's High Jump (1.50m), tying with Marissa LaBelle (Unattached).

Grace Kasberger took first in the Women's Shot Put (10.53m).

Marissa LaBelle (Unattached) also won the Women's Pole Vault (2.75m).
The Lumberjack women will turn their attention to next weekend at the Kim Duyst Invite on March 1 in Turlock at Warrior Stadium (Al Brenda Track).
