ARCATA, Calif. – Cal Poly Humboldt Track & Field made the most of a packed weekend schedule, competing at five different meets across California—including four in Southern California and one in San Francisco. While no team scores were recorded, the Lumberjacks walked away with a wave of personal records and several performances that cracked the program's all-time Top 10 lists.

Headlining the weekend was Sam Smith, who threw her way into the record books in the discus at the Beach Invitational in Long Beach. Smith's standout mark solidifies her name among the best in program history, as she now sits at No. 10 in program history for the discus with a mark of 133' 0".

Distance runner Mikenna Conan doubled up on personal bests, setting PRs in both the 800 meters (2:15.27) and 1500 meters (4:44.80), highlighting a strong weekend for the Jacks' middle-distance crew.

"Lots of PRs this weekend across all the meets," said head coach Sarah Ingram. "We're thrilled with how our student-athletes responded to the opportunity and the level of competition. It's a great sign of what's to come."

After a high-volume weekend of competition, the Lumberjacks will take the upcoming weekend off from racing to focus on training and fine-tuning ahead of the 2025 CCAA Track & Field Championships, which are set for the first weekend in May.
