ARCATA, Calif. -- Cal Poly Humboldt Softball received five All-CCAA (California Collegiate Athletic Association) selections for the 2025 season, which marks the most the conference honors the program has had since 2016.
Receiving First Team All-CCAA for the third straight season is senior
Alyssa Smokey (DP). Smokey led the team in multiple categories, being the toughest out in the lineup, started all 50 games, and ranked among the Top-10 in the CCAA in 10 categories.
In the CCAA, she ranks:
- 1st in HBP (21)
- 1st in on base percentage (.582)
- 2nd in batting average (.436)
- 2nd in OPS (1.251)
- 2nd in walks (27)
- 3rd in slugging percentage (.669)
- 3rd in RBI's (42)
- T-5th in doubles (13)
- T-7th in home runs (7)
- 10th in hits (57)

Gaige Garcia recorded a career high 17 wins this season as the ace in the circle for Humboldt. She appeared in 28 games and started 24. Garcia ranks 9th in program history both in innings pitched (470.2) and strikeouts (276), as well as 7th all-time in starts (91). Garcia is among the Top-10 in the CCAA in five categories: Wins (17 - 3rd), Strikeouts Looking (4th - 29), Strikeouts (74), Innings Pitched (9th - 129.2), and Earned Run Average (10th - 3.15).
Katlyn Gifford was very effective for Humboldt both offensively and defensively this season, as she ranks among the Top-10 CCAA marks in multiple categories. She started 49 of 50 games this season and appeared in all 50. Defensively, Gifford is 2nd in total chances (436) and 2nd in putouts (419) with only six errors (.986 fielding percentage). Offensively in the CCAA, she ranks 5th in Slugging Percentage (.589), 6th in OPS (1.003), is tied for 7th in Home Runs (7), 10th in RBI's (33), and is tied for 4th in sacrifice flies (4). The power hitting lefty batted a career high .341 at the plate this season and led the team in home runs (7) with
Alyssa Smokey, which is also a career high.
Alyssa Ramirez served as the everyday right fielder for the Jacks, starting 49 of 50 games and appearing in all 50 games. Ramirez had career-highs on both sides of the ball. Defensively, her .986 fielding percentage impressed as she committed only one error and had 69 putouts. Offensively, she hit .320 at the plate, had an on-base percentage of .408, and was a perfect 7-for-7 on stolen base attempts this season.
The final honoree is junior shortstop
Shelby Shanks, who was named All-CCAA Honorable Mention after starting all 50 games. She ranks second on the team in nearly every offensive category, highlighted by her .335 batting average and .404 on-base percentage, but leads the team with 12 doubles. Across the CCAA, she ranks 8th in RBI's (34), 9th in Doubles (12), 9th in Runs Scored (34), and 11th in Home Runs (5). Defensively, Shanks led the entire conference in assists with 142. She was a staple at shortstop and hit in the heart of the lineup all season.
