Katlyn Gifford of Cal Poly Humboldt has been voted the FloCollege/CCAA Softball Player of the Week.
Gifford was a clear standout at the plate in helping Humboldt earn a sweep in the final series of the season. The junior first baseman hit .750 (6-for-8), with two home runs, seven RBI, and six runs scored. She posted a .727 on-base percentage (8-for-11) and a 1.500 slugging percentage to record an unbelievable 2.227 OPS.
The Riverside native opened the series by going 2-for-2 with two RBI. She then had two home runs in the next game, the first of which was a three-run homer and the second was a walk-off, which lifted Humboldt to the 6-5 win. She finished the series by going 2-for-2 with a walk and three runs scored.
Gifford is tied for seventh in the CCAA in home runs (seven) and eighth in RBI (34). Click here to see the CCAA stats leaderboard.
