TURLOCK, Calif. – Day two of the CCAA Track & Field Championships brought a wave of momentum for the Cal Poly Humboldt women's track & field team, highlighted by a podium finish, multiple finals qualifiers, and an All-CCAA honor in Turlock.
Grace Kasberger led the way with a silver medal in the women's heptathlon, finishing second overall with a career-best score of 4,553 points. The performance earned her All-CCAA honors.
Humboldt's middle-distance and hurdles squads also impressed on Friday. Mikenna Conan advanced to Saturday's final in the 800 meters with a time of 2:16.55, earning a spot among the top contenders in the conference.
In the 100-meter hurdles prelims, the Jacks secured two spots in the final as Joy Hano (14.92 seconds) and Chris Roberds (15.02 seconds) both finished among the top eight to move on to championship Saturday.
The Lumberjacks will return to Al Brenda Track for the final day of the CCAA Championships on Saturday with momentum and medal hopes in multiple events.
