SAN FRANCISCO – Following scenario that is not unusual this season, the Humboldt State men's soccer team was outshot by a large margin and lost 0-3 to the San Francisco State Gators in the team's season finale on Sunday.

The Jacks who have been outshot by a nearly 3-to-2 margin on the year, took 10 shots to the Gators' 29 and finished the season 4-11-3 overall, 4-10-2 in California Collegiate Athletic Association play.  SFSU wraps up their year at 8-9-1, 6-9-1 in conference action.

Nine Gators got shots off in the match and at the 31:33 mark they got on the board.  Sasha Chalak played a ball to Edgar Villagrana who was right in front of the Jacks goal.  Villagrana put the ball past HSU keeper Kyle Verle for a 1-0 SFSU lead.

The Jacks managed three shots in the first 45 minutes, all on-frame, but all turned away by Gators' keeper Michael McNeill.  Verle saw nine shots on-goal and made eight saves.

In the second half, the Jacks had their best chance to score in the 56th minute.  Josh Suggs, who led the team with four shots, blasted one off the crossbar that would have tied the match at the 55:02 mark .

In the 72nd minute, SFSU got their second goal.  Tony Terrazas shot the ball to the upper right corner of the net for his second goal of the season. Antonio Ugarte and Joseph Flores were credited with assists.

The next eight minutes saw the Gators bang two shots off the post.  The second came from the foot of Ugarte who got his own rebound and put it to back of the net for the final margin of 3-0.

In the loss Verle stopped 10 of the 13 shots that the Gators put on goal while McNeill saved all five shots he faced.
