With the start of the 2026 campaign right around the corner, let's preview Cal Poly Humboldt Men's Soccer.

SEASON NOTES

Fred Jungemann begins his 19th season as a collegiate head coach in 2026 and his 14th season at the helm of the Lumberjacks. Jungemann previously spent six seasons coaching women's soccer at Barry before taking over the Humboldt program.

The 2026 roster features 30 players, including 20 returners and 10 newcomers.

Humboldt returns several players who played significant minutes, including Shota Lam, Erwin Manibusan, Robert Somerville, and Harper Thweatt. The Lumberjacks' returning players combined for significant experience during the 2025 season, with several returners earning starting roles throughout the campaign.

Humboldt's 2026 coaching staff features Jungemann alongside assistant coaches Nano Pereira, Iasiah Dairo, and first year coach Michael Carvalho.

FORWARDS (5)

The Lumberjacks' forward group features a combination of size, experience and youth, with Ethan Gyenis, Luke Gomes, and Jai Sternhall providing veteran presence in the attacking third.

Humboldt will also look to newcomers De Jon Watson and Alan Garcia to provide attacking options throughout the season. Watson and Gomes give the Lumberjacks additional options in both the forward and midfield positions.
