Johnson's Comments

“To finally put some goals away and get our first victory was extremely important for us and I am really happy with the result.  I hope this will move us in a positive direction. The attitude, heart and passion that we played with on Sunday is one of the things I am most happy with.  We are only four games into the season and I need to keep reminding myself there is a long way to go. “ … “The games this weekend are two must wins for us.  They are home games and teams that we should beat based on where their level of play is at this time.  We need to clean up some things this week and take care of business on our home field.” … “The fact that (UC) San Diego is struggling right now is a bit of a surprise.  They are allowing a lot of goals and I think they are a team we should beat.” … “(Cal State) East Bay is in a rebuilding mode.  They lack experience and opened up against two very good teams in conference play.  I expect them to be better than the team we saw last year and some of our boys have an extra bit of motivation with (former HSU head coach) Andy Cumbo coming back to Arcata for the first time.”
