The results give HSU an overall record of 1-2, while Cal Baptist finishes the tournament at 2-1, losing to Chico State 3-1 after the match against HSU, and HNU finishes the weekend 1-3 overall.

In the Jacks' first match of the day, they started out strong and won the opening set after a tight back-and-forth battle ensued between HSU and Cal Baptist. Despite the close first set, the Lancers took control of the match and powered through the next three sets to claim the victory over the deflated Jacks.

Humboldt State finished the match with 38 kills, led by Alexa Rosendale with a total 13 kills. Defensively, the Jacks totalled 57 digs, with Tiffany McCray leading with 18 digs, followed by 15 from Rosendale. On the other side of the net, Faith Steinwedell and Ingrid Carmona contributed 13 kills each.

Hoping to end the tournament with a win and find their first win of the season, the Jacks once again gave a strong performance in the first set of the nightcap, beating Holy Names 25-20. HSU jumped ahead 4-0 and didn't let go of its lead, even though the Hawks tried to rally from behind.

In the second set, Humboldt State once again took an early lead and kept it, extending it to seven points at one point in the set. The Hawks brought the set within two at 22-20, but a kill from Allison Drobish ended the set 25-21 in favor of the Jacks.

Up two sets, HSU looked confident heading into the third set, but a surge of energy from Holy Names turned the momentum around. The Jacks found themselves in a nine point hole, down 16-7, after the Hawks delivered off Tatum Bales' serves. Humboldt State rallied to bring the score within two, but couldn't overturn HNU and fell 25-21.

Keeping their momentum hot, the Hawks took advantage early and grabbed a match-high 14-point lead, 24-10, including two service aces from Lilia Marcic. The hole proved too much for the Jacks as they fell 25-13, forcing the match into a fifth and deciding set.

Humboldt State took an early lead and brought the set within one point to victory at 14-11. Determined to put up a fight, Holy Names battled to tie the set at 14-14. Kills by Washington and Ashley Neale sealed the win for the Jacks with a 16-14 result.
