ARCATA, Calif. - Cal Poly Humboldt sophomore libero Elizabeth Jade Andrade has been named the CCAA Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week, the conference and FloCollege announced Tuesday, following her standout performance at the season-opening Oredigger Volleyball Classic in Golden, Colo.

Andrade anchored Humboldt's back row across all three matches of the tournament, finishing with 53 digs for a 4.82 per-set average over 11 sets. That mark ranks second in the CCAA.
She also chipped in five service aces and nine assists while committing just one reception error in 54 attempts on the weekend.

The defensive specialist opened the tournament with a match-high 21 digs in a five-set battle against host Colorado School of Mines. She followed that up with 20 digs, four service aces, and five assists as the Lumberjacks rallied for a 3-1 win over Colorado Christian. Andrade closed out the weekend with 12 digs and an ace as Humboldt swept UCCS in three sets to close the tournament.

Andrade helped Humboldt finish the Oredigger Classic with a 2-1 record, closing the weekend by winning six of the final seven sets played.

The honor comes on the heels of her being named to the Oredigger Volleyball Classic All-Tournament Team alongside teammate Graysen Trupp. The sophomore was the only libero to be recognized as part of the All-Tournament Team.
