Women’s Soccer Visits Vallejo for Non-Conference Matches

ARCATA, Calif. – Humboldt State's women's soccer head to Vallejo, Calif., this weekend to face Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Friday at 5 p.m. and Benedictine at Mesa on Sunday at 11 a.m.

The Green and Gold look to rebound from Wednesday's 2-1 home loss against CCAA opponent Sonoma State. Following the loss, HSU moved to 3-2-1 overall and 0-2-1 in conference play.

Junior midfielder Alex Jenkins has been the Jacks best offensive weapon this season scoring four out team's seven goals. Jenkins was HSU's offensive leader against Sonoma State with a team high two shots on goal out of the five. Goalkeeper Katelin Talbert had one of her best statistical games Wednesday with eight saves, just one shy of her career-high nine against Fresno Pacific.

The Embry-Riddle Eagles have lost two straight and are 4-3 this season, while the Benedictine at Mesa Redhawks lost 0-4 last Saturday against Arizona Christian University and are 1-3 this season.

After this weekend in Vallejo the Green and Gold return home to face Chico State on Sept. 29 and Stanislaus State Oct. 1 at College Creek Field.
