HSU To Begin Season Ending Three-Game Home Stand This Saturday

ARCATA, Calif.---  Humboldt State's women's soccer team will begin their season three-game home stand this Saturday, November 2 at 11:30am when the Lumberjacks host San Francisco State at College Creek Field. 
 
RECAP OF HSU'S LAST MATCHES:  The Lumberjacks finished the road part of the regular season this past weekend with two losses in Southern California.  Humboldt State lost 1-0 at Cal Poly Pomona this past Friday afternoon with Katelin Talbert recording six saves in goal for the 'Jacks.  On Sunday, HSU lost a 3-2 nail biter in double overtime at Cal State San Bernardino.  Pikake Hix scored HSU's first goal off a ball from Sabine PostmaLindsay Stoner scored the Lumberjacks' first goal on a penalty kick.  Talbert had two saves in goal for the 'Jacks.
 
UPDATE ON THE LUMBERJACKS:  HSU enters its three-game home stand with a 3-9-2 overall record and a 2-7 CCAA.  Lindsay Stoner leads the way with her five goals of which two came off of penalty kicks.  Sabine Postma leads HSU with her five assists to go with her one goal.  Kelsey Bess has two goals and two assists and Pikake Hix has scored three goals.  Right behind her with two goals is Erin Siegel while Selana Osorio has a goal and an assist. Three other players have scored one goal each in Kendal Spencer, Mary Swicher and Rose HarmanKatelin Talbert has posted a 1.64 goals against average with 72 saves and a .750 saves percentage.

GATORS IN REVIEW:  San Francisco State is 2-11-1 overall and 0-9 in the CCAA after losing 1-0 in overtime to Cal State San Bernardino and 4-0 to Cal Poly Pomona on the road this past weekend.  The Gators are led by Katelyn Patterson's five goals.  In goal for the Golden Gators is Sommer Harrington who has a .738 saves percentage to go with her 1.90 goals against average and 45 saves.
 
SF State leads the all-time series 11-6-2 including winning last year's meeting 1-0 in Arcata.  The Lumberjacks defeated the Gators 1-0 in San Francisco in 2017 as Erin Siegel connected on a ball from Lindsay Stoner for the game-winner. 
 
WHAT'S NEXT:  After Saturday's match, HSU will host its final two matches of the regular season on November 7 and 9.  The Lumberjacks will entertain Cal State Dominguez Hills on November 7 at 12:30pm and Cal State Los Angeles on November 9 at 2pm in its Senior Day match.
