ARCATA, Calif.--- Humboldt State Lumberjacks' women's soccer team will travel to Southern California for a pair of CCAA matches this Friday and Sunday, October 11 and 13. The Lumberjacks will travel to La Jolla, Calif., this Friday evening for a 7pm with No. 2 UC San Diego. On Sunday, Humboldt State will be in San Marcos, Calif., for a 11:30am match with Cal State San Marcos.
LUMBERJACKS' LAST TWO MATCHES: The Lumberjacks lost two one-goal matches this past weekend at College Creek Field. HSU started the weekend with a 3-2 loss to Chico State on Friday afternoon. The 'Jacks took a 2-0 lead after the first 20 minutes of the game. Kesley Bess scored HSU's first goal in the sixth minute and fourteen minutes later
Lindsay Stoner connected on her third goal of the season. Chico State scored three unanswered goals in the final 63 minutes to take the 3-2 conference win.
Katelin Talbert had six saves in goal for the 'Jacks. HSU lost 1-0 to Stanislaus State, who was receiving votes nationally, on Sunday afternoon. The Warriors scored the only goal of the match in the 48
th minute on a goal by Selia Torres. Talbert had seven saves in goal for the Lumberjacks.
UPDATE ON THE LUMBERJACKS: Humboldt State enters its Thursday match at UC San Diego with a 1-5-2 overall record and a 0-3 CCAA record.

Pikake Hix. Postma leads the team with her three assists.
Katelin Talbert has posted a 1.42 goals against average in goal for HSU. She has 44 saves for a .786 saves percentage with two shutouts.
NO. 2 TRITONS IN REVIEW: UC San Diego enters its match with the Lumberjacks with an 8-0-1 record including a 3-0-1 CCAA record. The Tritons went 2-0 last weekend with a 1-0 win over Cal Poly Pomona and a 3-0 victory over CSU San Bernardino.
Michelle Baddour leads the team with her two goals and team high five assists and nine points. Natalie Saddie is next with three goals, one assist and seven points. Angelica Ramos has posted a 0.22 goals against average with a .923 saves percentage and 24 saves.
UC San Diego leads the all-time series with HSU 11-1-2. The Tritons won last year's meeting 3-1 in La Jolla. HSU defeated UC San Diego 2-1 in Arcata on Sept. 17, 2010.
COUGARS IN REVIEW: Cal State San Marcos is 3-4-2 overall and 2-2 in the CCAA entering its Friday match-up with SF State. The Cougars went 1-1 last weekend with a 1-0 overtime win over Cal State San Bernardino and a 2-0 loss to Cal Poly Pomona. Madysen Brown, Jessica Harloe and Hannah Arcala all have scored one goal this season for CSUSM. Yesenia Betancourt has posted a 0.66 goals against average in goal for the Cougars with 22 saves.
UP NEXT: After Sunday's matches at Cal State San Marcos, Humboldt State will return home to College Creek Field on Friday, October 18 for a 12:30pm match with Cal State East Bay.
