ARCATA, Calif--- Humboldt State women's soccer team will return to the pitch this week for a pair of CCAA matches against Stanislaus State and Cal State East Bay. The 'Jacks will travel to Turlock, Calif., this Thursday, October 14 for a 4:30 pm match with the Stanislaus State Warriors. They will return home on Sunday, October 76 to begin a three-match homestand. HSU will host Cal State East Bay at 11:30am at College Creek Field.
COACHING STAFF: Coach Grant Landy will begin his second season at the helm of the Lumberjack women's soccer program after coaching for 23 years at Concordia University-Portland. During his career, Landy has compiled a 392-88-42 record for a .795 winning percentage. He will be assisted by Lumberjack Alum Taylor McMillin, who is in her fourth season as the top assistant for the women's soccer team.

RECAP OF LAST WEEKEND: The Lumberjacks lost a pair of 2-0 matches on the road this past weekend. On Thursday, HSU lost 2-0 at Cal State Dominguez Hills as Alexis Aguilar had eight saves in goal for the 'Jacks. Humboldt State lost 2-0 at Cal State Monterey Bay on Sunday in Seaside when the Otters scored twice in the second half.
FOUR DOUBLE OVERTIMES: Humboldt State has played four double overtime matches this season all at College Creek Field. HSU began its season with a scoreless tie with Dominican. HSU tied Chico State 1-1, Cal State San Marcos 0-0 and Cal State San Bernardino 1-1.
LEADERS: Kendal Spencer and Clara Lenihan each are tied for the team lead with three goals with one assist for a team high seven points. Kelsey Bess and Baylee Groom each have a team high two assists. Alexis Aguilar has a .847 saves percentage with a .77 goals against average with 50 saves and three shutouts.
CCAA LEADERS: Kendal Spencer is tied for second in game-winning goals. Spencer along with Clara Lenihan are tied for seventh in goals scored. Aguilar is second in saves percentage and saves per game while she is third in goals against average and shutouts.
STANISLAUS STATE: The Warriors are 4-4-2 overall and 1-1-2 in the CCAA. Julia Cumming and Rayanna Plancarte each have scored a team leading three goals while Plancorte has two game-winning goals. Ilena Rivera has a team leading three assists. Amanda Leal has posted a 0.67 goals against average with 42 saves and six shutouts. She also has a .857 saves percentage. The Warriors lead the all-time series 16-5 including winning the last four. In a row. Stanislaus won the last meeting 1-0 in 2019 in Arcata. HSU's last win was a 1-0 in 2015 in Arcata.
CAL STATE EAST BAY: The Pioneers are 6-2-2 overall and 3-0-1 in the CCAA. Tami Kwong leads the team with her four goals and a team leading four game-winning goals. Julie Newman and Riley Spitzer each have scored two goals and recorded three assists. Jordan Smith has posted a 0.66 goals against average with a .774 saves percentage and five shutouts. The Pioneers lead the all-time series 9-2-2 including Cal State East Bay 2-1 in 2019 in Arcata. The two teams played to a 1-1 tie in 2018 in Arcata. HSU last defeated the Pioneers 1-0 in 2015 in Arcata.
UP NEXT: After this weekend, HSU will have its final two home matches on October 22 and 24. The 'Jacks will entertain No. 13 Sonoma State on Friday at 12:30pm and SF State on 11:30am.
