ARCATA, Calif.--- Humboldt State's women's basketball team, under the direction of head coach
Michelle Bento-Jackson, recorded the highest term grade point average (gpa) ever posted by this Spring 2021 for any team in the Department of Athletics' history. The Lumberjacks posted a team gpa of 3.70 this past Spring semester.
"I am extremely proud of our team for maintaining their commitment to academic excellence," said Bento-Jackson. "Being successful in the classroom is a high priority for us and through all the challenges this past year, they were able to remain focused and dedicated to their school work which they are to be commended for."
Overall for the Athletic Department, ten teams posted a term team GPA of 3.00 or higher and seven posted a term GPA of 3.30+. Of those programs, women's basketball (3.70), women's soccer (3.64), softball (3.52), men's soccer (3.46) and men's basketball (3.39) recorded their best GPA's in ten years.
HSU had two players named to the Presidential Scholar List for achieving a 3.85 or higher gpa this past semester in
Kazimierz Parks and
Sharon Roldan.
