ARCATA, Calif--- Humboldt State will look to extend its winning streak to seven as the 'Jacks entertain Cal State San Marcos and Cal State San Bernardino in a pair of conference matches this weekend at College Creek Field. The Lumberjacks will host Cal State San Marcos this Friday, October 1 at 12:30pm and Cal State San Bernardino this Sunday, October 3 at 11:30am. HSU has started its 2021 season with six straight shutouts for the first time in school history.

Fred Jungemann is in his ninth year on the sideline for the Lumberjacks. This year, Coach Jungemann's assistants are three former Lumberjacks in
Frankie Calderon, Phil Rouse and
Isaiah Dairo who will begin their first year on the Lumberjack coaching staff.
SHUTOUT STREAK CONTINUES: Humboldt State's shutout streak was extended to six after the Lumberjacks' 1-0 win over Chico State this past Saturday. This was the first time in 11-meetings between Chico State and HSU that the 'Jacks have defeated the Wildcats. The Lumberjacks scored the game-winning goal in the 56th minute when
Marco Silveira connected on a ball from Marcus Abedel-Malek off a through ball from
Dylan Tovani. Playing key roles for HSU on defense are goalkeepers
Adrian Gallardo and
Jacob Cotton along with defenders
Ethan Conaty,
Dylan Tovani,
Sean Tucker,
Christian Gonzalez and
Cole Falco. HSU is one of two teams in NCAA Division II that hasn't allowed a goal with the other being Davis & Elkins.
LEADERS:
Marco Silveira leads the 'Jacks with his team high five goals, six assists and 16 points. He leads the team with his three game-winning goals while
Alex Lopez has two game-winning goals and
Dylan Tovani has the other game-winner for HSU. Lopez has scored three goals and added an assist for his seven points.
Daniel Adeyeye and
Nico Herrera Land each have scored a goal and recorded three assists while Tovani has scored two goals.
Adrian Gallardo has posted a 0.00 goals against average in five matches in goal with 14 saves and a 1.000 saves percentage with four shutouts.
CCAA: Five Lumberjacks are in this week's CCAA statistical leaders in
Marco Silveira, Alejandro Lopez,
Daniel Adeyeye,
Dylan Tovani and
Adrian Gallardo. Silveira leads the CCAA with his assists, game-winning goals and points while he is tied for third in goals scored. Lopez is tied for second in game-winning goals, tied for seventh in goals scored and ninth in points while Adeyeye is tied for third in assists.
Adrian Gallardo leads the conference in goals against average, save percentage and shutouts per game while he is tenth in saves.
SIX: The six straight wins is the first time since 2017 when the 'Jacks won six games in a row. The longest winning streak by an HSU men's soccer team is seven which was done in 1994 and in 1985.
MOVING CLOSER:
Marco Silveira is two assists from moving past Billy Hansen into second place on HSU's all-time assist list. Kevin Wiese holds the career record with 30. Silveira has 20 assists during his career to go with his 13 goals in the Green and Gold. The senior forward is three goals from moving into tenth place on HSU's career goals list. He is four assists from moving past Paul Royere into fourth on HSU's single season assists list.
Adrian Gallardo is tied for eighth on HSU's single season shutout list.
CAL STATE SAN MARCOS: The Cougars are 1-5 on the season after snapping their five-match losing streak this past Saturday with a 1-0 win over Cal State San Bernardino. Tristan Monroe leads the Cougars with his one goal while Corbine Thaete has CSUSM's only assist. Jesus Mentado has a 1.67 goals against average and one shutout.
CSUSM leads the all-time series with the 'Jacks 3-2 with the Cougars winning the last meeting 3-0 in 2019 in San Marcos. The 'Jacks won 1-0 in 2018 in San Marcos. The last time that HSU defeated the Cougars in Arcata was in 2017 when the 'Jacks won 2-1 on a golden goal in the first overtime by current assistant coach
Frankie Calderon.
CAL STATE SAN BERNARDINO: The Coyotes are 2-2-1 overall after their 1-0 loss at Cal State San Marcos this past Saturday. Gerardo Flores leads CSUSB with his two goals while five players have one assist. Juan Nieves has posted a 0.95 goals against average with 18 saves and one shutout.
The Coyotes lead the all-time series 10-3 including winning the last six in a row including winning 3-1 in San Bernardino in 2019. The last HSU win was a 2-1 victory in 2013.
