GOLD RIVER, Calif.--- Cal Poly Humboldt Women's Rowing team, currently ranked eighth in the most recent CRCA/Pocock Division II Poll, had both of their Varsity 8+ and Varsity 4+ finish in the top three in the Grand Final at the WIRA Championships this morning in Gold River, Calif.
The eight finished in second while the four crossed the line in third.
"This was our best race of the season," said head coach
Matt Weise. "I was really happy with our results this morning and I am looking forward to our progressions towards GNAC's in two weeks."
The Jacks Varsity 8+ finished in second place with a time of 6:54.171, four seconds behind Western Washington who won with a time of 6:50.64. Humboldt finished ahead of Seattle Pacific by five seconds as the Falcons posted a time of 6:59.911 to finish in third.

In the Women's Varsity 4+, the Jacks finished in third-place with a time of 8:19.081 just four seconds behind conference rival Seattle Pacific (8:15.054) who finished second, and 12 seconds ahead of their other conference rival Western Washington. Washington State captured the race with a time of 8:13.167.
Cal Poly Humboldt will now prepare for the 2022 Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships, which will take place on May 14 at Dexter Lake in Dexter, Oregon.
