Track & Field to Travel to Kim Duyst Invitational

ARCATA, Calif.--- The Cal Poly Humboldt track & field squads will be traveling down to Turlock, California this weekend to participate in the Kim Duyst Invitational hosted by Stanislaus State on Friday, March 3 and Saturday, March 4 at Warrior Stadium.

Last weekend, the Lumberjack duo of Grace Kasberger and Cocome McKamey took second and third at the Chico Multi-Event Classic. Kasberger earned a PR in the shotput enroute to a 4062 point performance over the seven event heptathlon while McKamey, in her first collegiate multi-event, scored 3996 points with personal bests in the shotput and 800-meter run. Kasberger's performance was good enough to garner CCAA Field Athlete of the Week honors.

This weekend's meet will be the first full event for the North Coast squad, who will send a complete team to compete in the two-day event.

Other CCAA teams that will be competing at the meet this weekend include Chico State, Cal State Los Angeles and the host Stanislaus State Warriors. The CCAA pre-season coaches poll has the Lumberjack men ranked fifth while the women's team comes into the season ranked sixth.

After this weekend, the Green & Gold will make another trip on Highway 299 to compete at the Chico Wildcat Invitational in Chico, California on March 11.
