TURLOCK, Calif. — Lumberjack freshman Cocome McKamey had a standout performance this weekend at the Stanislaus State Multi on Thursday and Friday where she placed fourth with a career high 4276 points over the seven event competition. Her performance over the weekend also vaulted her to seventh all-time on the Humboldt school record list and currently ranks her first in the CCAA.
"Coco had a number of standout performances and personal bests that propelled her to a new personal best," assistant coach Teigan Eilers said. "Coco had season best performances in the 100m hurdles (16.19s) and high jump (5' 1") that set the tone for her meet and set her up well for success."
After fouling her attempts in the javelin attempt, Grace Kasberger rallied back to earn a ninth place finish (3896 points).
"Despite a no mark in javelin, Gracie had great marks in the 100m hurdles (15.75s) and high jump (4' 11.75") that we can build off of going into conference," Eilers said. "It feels like a gut punch when you no-mark, but she showed her maturity and was able to collect herself well and move on afterwards."
Lumberjack alum and assistant coach Kate Eilers also competed in the event, placing third overall with a score of 4519 points.
