ARCATA, Calif. -- Cal Poly Humboldt hosted Folsom Lake College on Saturday for an exhibition match at College Creek Field. The 'Jacks pulled away in the end after a
Camryn Patten's go-ahead goal secured a 2-1 victory.
Emma McChristie got Humboldt on the scoreboard with ten seconds left in the first half. The ball was scored off a free kick and was McChristie's first goal of the 2023 preseason. The 'Jacks went into the half up 1-0 and former Folsom Lake College goalie, Grace Filau, held the Falcons to no goals in the first half.
The second half was the stronger one for the Lumberjacks despite a goal by the Falcons early out of the locker room. Folsom Lake snuck a ball into the back of the net to tie it up after
Adea Nunes had two brilliant saves on the same play.
During the physical back and forth play between the teams, sophomore defender
Camryn Patten scored a banger from roughly 30 yards out to secure a 2-1 Humboldt victory as the 'Jacks back line held strong the rest of the match.
