Sunnyvale, Calif. – Cal Poly Humboldt women's cross country runners took part in the Santa Clara University Bronco Invitational at Baylands Park. Competing in the 6k Open race, the Lumberjacks were represented by
Anna Tasky,
Bianca Cortes, and
Izzi Peila, while
Sophie Smith rounded out the team's effort despite not competing for a team score.
Leading the way for the Lumberjacks was
Anna Tasky, who crossed the finish line in 24:11.6 to claim 50th place overall. Close behind,
Bianca Cortes delivered a strong performance, finishing 52nd with a time of 24:16.4. Freshman
Izzi Peila rounded out the trio with a solid 25:12.9, earning 78th place in the highly competitive field.
In total, over 160 runners from various schools across California and beyond participated in the event. Cal Poly Humboldt's participation in the Bronco Invitational marked another opportunity for the Lumberjacks to gain valuable experience as they gear up for the upcoming CCAA Championships.
The Lumberjacks will now set their sights on preparing for the upcoming CCAA Championships next Saturday (Oct. 25) in Fresno at
