ARCATA, Calif. -- Cal Poly Humboldt Track & Field sign four women to the 2024-25 recruiting class from the sprints and jumping events, while women's cross country brings in a robust group of eight talented runners who will join forces on the track in the winter and spring for the indoor and outdoor track & field seasons.
Head Coach Sarah Ingram commends assistant coaches Jamey Harris and Teigan Eilers for their success bringing such a talented group of young women to Cal Poly Humboldt. Ingram also noted, "We're still searching for the right type of student-athlete to join our women's program, and keeping our search open for potential JC or 4-year transfers for the spring semester, particularly in the throws, multi's, and jumps."
Brielle Jimerson
Cal Poly Humboldt is proud to announce the signing of athlete Brielle Jimerson from Madison High School in San Diego, California.
Brielle is a talented sprinter and will bring with her a versatile skill set, having experience in the 100m, 200m 400m, as well as both the 4x100 and 4x400m relays. Brielle's range in the sprinting events will make an immediate impact on the Lumberjacks women's sprint team. Jimerson has run impressive times in all three sprint events, running 12.55 seconds in the 100m, 25.47 seconds in the 200m, and 59.31 seconds in the 400m. In 2024, Brielle had an impressive showing at the CIFSDS Division 3 Championship, placing third in the 100m, fourth in the 200m, and helped her team secure second in both the 4x100m and 4x400m relays. A week later, Jimerson assisted her team in a fifth-place finish in the 4x100m relay at the CIFSDS Section Championship.
Head Coach Sarah Ingram is excited about Brielle, saying, "Brielle is a gifted and versatile sprinter, showing promise in all three sprinting distances. She's ready for collegiate competition and has the ability to contribute to both relay teams, making her a dynamic addition to an already strong group of sprinters. Personally, she's hungry to contribute, and we're so excited to have her positive enthusiasm joining our program."
Along with Jimerson's athletic success, she achieved a 4.0 GPA in high school and is ready to tackle her studies by pursuing a degree in Criminology and Justice Studies.

Morgan Buel
The Lumberjacks are excited to have signed Morgan Buel from Folsom High School in Folsom, California.
Morgan will bring her expertise in the short sprints to Humboldt this fall. With personal best of 12.24 seconds in the 100m and 25.88 seconds in the 200m, she is poised to contribute to a strong 4x100m relay team. In her senior year, Morgan took the reins at the SFL League Championship with a second-place finish in both the 100m and 4x100m relay. Morgan's season got cut short after the League Championship with a minor injury, but she is ready to hit the ground running this fall.
Head Coach Sarah Ingram commented about Morgan, saying, "Morgan is a strong short sprints specialist, who will find a suitable home within our increasingly competitive sprint relay team and training group. Morgan fit right in with the team on her visit, and we're so pleased to welcome a young women of her caliber to the Lumberjack Family."
Morgan is also academically minded, excelling in high school. She plans on majoring in Kinesiology, with an emphasis in Exercise Science at Cal Poly Humboldt.

Lily Shadden
The Lumberjacks are thrilled to announce the commitment of Lily Shadden from Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah.
Shadden, a 6' tall high jumper, is ready to make an immediate impact within a strong women's high jump squad. With a personal best of 5'4 in the high jump, she is primed to compete with the best in the CCAA conference this coming spring. At Foothill Technology High School, Shadden was the 2023 CIF Southern Section high jump champion, Tri Valley league champion in both 2022 and 2023, and also anchored her 4x400 team at the CIF finals. Additionally, Shadden is a multi-sport athlete and will compete in both track and field, as well as soccer at Cal Poly Humboldt.
Shadden, an outstanding student boasting a 4.0 gpa, is majoring in Kinesiology at Cal Poly Humboldt.

Tully Leonard
Tully Leonard will join the Lumberjacks this fall from Santa Rosa City College in Santa Rosa, California.
Tully will add depth to the women's high jump squad. With a personal best of 5', she is ready to put in the work to make an impact at the conference level. Additionally, Tully has experience in the 400m hurdles, an event Humboldt has historically had much success.
Tully is also an exceptional student, who plans on majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Physics during her time at Cal Poly Humboldt.
