RENO, Nev. – The Cal Poly Humboldt women's track & field team begin their 2025 indoor campaign this week, traveling to Reno, Nev. for the Silver State Invitational & Multis, held Thursday, Dec. 4 through Saturday, Dec. 6 at the Reno Sparks Convention Center. The three-day meet marks Humboldt's first competition of the winter season and features Division I programs as well as Division II programs from across the West Region.
Action begins Thursday with multi-events, followed by a full slate of track and field competition on Friday and Saturday inside one of the premier indoor facilities on the West Coast.
LAST TIME OUT
While the Silver State Invitational serves as the first meet of the indoor season, the Lumberjacks enter the winter following a successful fall highlighted by strong postseason performances from the women's cross country program.
The women capped their season with a 20th-place finish at the NCAA West Regional Championships, led by standout efforts from Isabel Perez-Zoghbi (47th), Brinna Weiseth (72nd, PR), and a trio of additional personal bests from Lyla Fedio, Maddie McKenna, and Anna Tasky.
With many distance runners transitioning to the indoor track circuit and several sprinters, jumpers, and throwers set to make their season debuts, Humboldt will look to carry its momentum into the first meet of 2025.
LOOKING FOR GOLD IN THE SILVER STATE
The Silver State Invitational & Multis provides an early-season opportunity for the Lumberjacks to establish baseline marks, hit new personal bests, integrate newcomers, and begin building toward the Indoor Championships later this winter.
Humboldt is expected to line up across a full range of events, including the heptathlon and pentathlon, sprints, mid-distance, distance, relays, and selected field disciplines. Multi-event athletes will headline the opening day, while the remainder of the squad begins competition Friday morning.
