Women's Track & Field Heads North for Riverfront Invitational & Multis

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Cal Poly Humboldt women's indoor track & field team return to action this week as they travel north to Spokane, Wash. for the Riverfront Invitational & Multis, beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 5 and ending Friday, Feb. 7 at The Podium.

The three-day meet continues Humboldt's indoor campaign and features a deep field, offering the Lumberjacks another opportunity to build on a strong season-opening performance while chasing qualifying marks and school records early in the indoor slate.

Action begins Thursday with multi-events, followed by a full schedule of track and field competition Friday and Saturday inside one of the premier indoor facilities in the Pacific Northwest.

LAST TIME OUT

Cal Poly Humboldt opened the indoor season with a statement weekend at the Silver State Invitational & Multis in Reno, delivering school records, NCAA provisional marks, and breakthrough performances across both programs.

The women's squad set three indoor school records and earned two NCAA provisional marks, highlighted by standout efforts from Cocome McKamey in the pentathlon and Isabel Perez-Zoghbi in the 800 meters. Freshmen Caitlyn Dougherty and Kelsi Lytle made immediate impacts, combining for multiple event wins and school records, while the 4x400 relay closed the meet with a historic performance.

MEET OUTLOOK

The Riverfront Invitational & Multis provides another critical early-season checkpoint as Humboldt continues to establish baseline marks and fine-tune ahead of championship season.

Multi-event athletes will again headline the opening day, with heptathlon and pentathlon competition starting at 12 p.m. on Thursday before a full slate of sprint, hurdle, middle-distance, distance, relay, and field events take over the final two days.

With momentum already building from Reno, the Lumberjacks will look to continue integrating newcomers, sharpening execution, and pushing for additional NCAA provisional marks while competing against a strong regional field.
