Cal Poly Humboldt Women Set Three School Records and Earn Two NCAA Provisional Marks at Silver State Invitational

RENO, Nev. — Cal Poly Humboldt Women's Indoor Track & Field opened the 2025 season with a statement performance at the Silver State Invitational & Multis, hosted by the University of Nevada, Reno. Across the three-day meet, the Lumberjacks delivered three new indoor school records, two NCAA provisional qualifying marks, and a surge of personal bests from both freshmen and returning standouts.

DAY 1 – Thursday

Cocome McKamey Opens Season with NCAA Provisional in the Pentathlon

McKamey launched the weekend with a strong showing in the indoor pentathlon, finishing 8th out of 22 and securing an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the first contested event of the season.

She posted efforts near her lifetime bests in the 60-meter hurdles, high jump, and long jump, showcasing composure and consistency across the opening events. A tough shot put series and a congested start in the 800m forced her to work from behind, but she battled fiercely—methodically reeling in competitors with each 200m lap.

DAY 2 – Friday

Freshmen Sweep PRs; Dougherty Breaks 200m School Record. Perez-Zoghbi Hits Provo

Freshmen Caitlyn Dougherty and Kelsi Lytle made spectacular collegiate debuts, each dropping roughly two seconds from their incoming marks in the 400m.

400 Meters

Dougherty doubled back to win her heat of the 200m and break the indoor school record with a time of 25.19, followed closely by PRs from teammates Jimerson (25.56) and Lytle (25.90).

In distance action, Brinna Weiseth earned a PR of 10:35 in the 3,000m, finishing 5th.

The highlight of the afternoon came from Isabel Perez-Zoghbi, who stormed to a 2:10.70 in the 800m—good for second place and an NCAA provisional mark, placing her prominently in early-season Division II rankings.

DAY 3 – Saturday

Lytle and the Women's 4x400 Relay Add Two More School Records

Saturday brought more breakthroughs, beginning with a PR for freshman Caitlyn Dougherty in the 60 hurdles (9.49).

In the 60-meter dash, Kelsi Lytle electrified the track with a 7.85, establishing a new indoor school record in her first collegiate weekend.

The Jacks closed the meet with the third school record of the weekend, as the 4x400 relay team of Caitlyn Dougherty, Brielle Jimerson, Cocome McKamey, and Isabel Perez-Zoghbi clocked 3:52.92.

Also in shot put, Isabella Clausen added a personal best of 11.20m.

UP NEXT

The 'Jacks will be training and preparing for the 2026 calendar, as their next event is the Riverfront Invitational and Multi's in Spokane, Washington at The Podium from February 5-7.
