ARCATA, Calif. – The Cal Poly Humboldt men's soccer team is embracing the challenge of the upcoming season after being picked 11th in the 2025 California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Preseason Coaches Poll, released Tuesday by the conference office.

The poll, voted on by the league's 11 head coaches, placed Humboldt with 23 points, just behind UC Merced (27) and Cal State San Marcos (29). While the Lumberjacks enter the fall in the underdog role, the program views the preseason ranking as motivation for growth in a conference widely regarded as one of the toughest in NCAA Division II men's soccer.

The Lumberjacks' 2025 schedule features perennial CCAA contenders, including three programs ranked in the United Soccer Coaches Top-25 Preseason Poll: Cal State LA (#11), Cal Poly Pomona (#18), and Cal State Dominguez Hills (#24). Humboldt will lean on a mix of experienced returners and talented newcomers under head coach Fred Jungemann, with each match serving as an opportunity to compete, develop, and climb the conference ladder.

The Jacks open their 2025 campaign on Thursday, September 4, with a non-conference matchup against Jessup University at College Creek Field.
