Women’s Soccer Travels to Colorado to Face CSU Pueblo

PUEBLO, Colo. – Cal Poly Humboldt women's soccer will continue its early-season road slate on Thursday, Sept. 18, taking on CSU Pueblo at 6 p.m. PT at Art and Lorraine Gonzales Stadium in Pueblo, Colo. The Lumberjacks aim to stay on the winning side against the Thunderwolves after their most recent victory over Fresno Pacific on Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT
The Lumberjacks (1-2-1) picked up a 3-1 win over Fresno Pacific on Saturday in San Rafael, Calif. Humboldt struck first in the 32nd minute, as Payton Heaney found the back of the net off an assist from Nicole Beauchemin. Alia Prentiss doubled the lead in the 58th minute before Fresno Pacific answered with a goal just a minute later. Annie Hoffman secured the victory for Humboldt with a 75th-minute strike, assisted by Karsyn Ross.

Humboldt outshot the Sunbirds 14-8, including nine on goal, while recording eight corner kicks compared to Fresno Pacific's one. The Lumberjacks defensive front made it easy for goalkeepers Ari Beddoes and Carson Thomson-Terrel, who combined to make three saves to help preserve the win as they controlled possession throughout the contest.

TAKING ON THE THUNDERWOLVES
Cal Poly Humboldt faces CSU Pueblo (1-2-1) for the first time this season, aiming to build on their recent offensive performance. The ThunderWolves have not started strong in 2025, posting losses through their last two games. The 'Jacks have yet to play CSU Pueblo in their history, which will make for an unpredictable and exciting battle.

This matchup marks the first of back-to-back road contests for the Lumberjacks in Colorado. Humboldt will look to carry its energy from San Rafael onto enemy turf, continuing to sharpen execution and build chemistry early in the season.
